We are holding 2 socials in October.
we would love to see you there. Just let us know if you can make it - places are limited.
Saturday 3rd October – Faversham
Saturday 10th October – Leeds
Kate and Sallie are delighted to invite you to meet us in October, in the south or in the north!
Last time we met in Faversham, we had plans for a short formal presentation – it never happened because volunteers were so busy talking with each other that it seemed a shame to interrupt. This time we’ll try again … and perhaps we’ll succeed.
But we know why volunteers are there – to meet each other – and just maybe us!
Volunteers who’ve already returned from their placements; volunteers whose placements are planned; potential volunteers who are still doing the research and considering the possibilities – all in the same place at the same time! What a great opportunity for previous volunteers to catch up on the news – and future volunteers will be able to ask the ‘veterans’ what volunteering is really like.
As you know, we have neither big offices nor a big budget, and our plans to get ‘out and about’ have been helped hugely by the generosity of Faversham Town Council as well as our eminence gris and non-executive chair, Professor Harold Goodwin and Leeds Metropolitan University.
We realise that many of you will be unable to come – either because these venues are too far away, or because some volunteers will be away in their placements!
But we’re inviting you anyway – perhaps you may be visiting friends and family nearby, or perhaps you’ve a friend or colleague who would like to come …
We’re really looking forward to this opportunity to meet you – we’ve met quite a few volunteers over the last few months, but nowhere near enough! It will be wonderful to be able to put faces to voices and names.
We’ve no idea how many of you will want to come, and our plans currently involve fairly small venues – so if lots of you want to join us, we may well need to arrange for more space!
